Béatrice P., Supervisor

1/ What does a supervisor’s work consist in at BlueLink? What is your role?

A supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day performance of a team. The supervisor provides assistance, trains and guides the team towards their goals. To be good at it, you need to be interested in what each member of your team does, while trying to continuously improve yourself. This is, in my opinion, apart from listening to people and understanding them, what gives a meaning to what you may say or demand.

Everyone is not the same and you should adapt your management style to each person. In short, communication is about being able to adapt to your interlocutor: it is a plus for the job.

2/ How were you promoted to a supervisory position?

I am technical-minded. I have learnt how to handle almost any activity here (front-office agent, award reservations, Help Desk, after-sales, complaints…). I’ve also worked as a Mentor. All this - assistance, counsel, training – made me want to manage a team and, above all, to share my professional and human experience.

3/ What does your work bring you?

I’m a “field worker”: I like to share what I know. My work brings me satisfaction because I can help people apply their know-how, become more self-reliant, move on and progress. As for me, success consists in tackling an allegedly difficult situation with one of my team and finding a solution to keep up the rhythm. One last point, what is really rewarding at BlueLink, is a mixture of cultures.
