Clara Àngeles Vidal Donet, Customer Care Coordinator for TransaviaNationality: Spanish Was this internship with BlueLink International CZ your first real professional experience? No, it wasn’t. I have worked in many different places and I did two internships in advertising agencies (related to my studies). However, this has been the most similar experience to a real job due to the duration of the internship, the size and procedures and the responsibilities that you can acquire. Why did you decide to come to Prague and what did you think of the city?Since I started to travel I had in mind to visit Prague. Everyone who was here visiting the city fell in love with it so I really wanted to come. When my university proposed me a list of companies and countries and I saw “Prague”, somehow I knew that this could be a very special experience. In Prague you can gain access to all kinds of culture and enjoyment easily because you can find them everywhere and they are affordable (something we are not able to say about all capitals), so you can make the most of your stay doing what you really love to do. What is the area of your academic studies?I have studied Advertising and Public Relations which belongs to communication area. Working in a multinational company helps me to understand in a better way how the internal communication works inside BlueLink International CZ as well as between all the headquarters, which is an important part regarding to my studies. When you started to look for an internship, what were you looking for?I was looking for an internship that allows me to work in an international atmosphere and spend a good time with your colleagues, to learn something new every day in order to reach new skills and get a wider experience… To sum up, something motivating because you feel that you are growing up personal and professionally. Did you feel a language skill improvement because you are using other languages?Using a foreign language at work with colleagues and customers even more on the phone, or simply going out around the city helps you to improve your listening and oral skills. How was your evolution during your BLICZ experience?I was feeling more confident on the phone as I was assimilating all the information that we were given during the training period. I received some training to learn new procedures so I could keep busy all the time and I had the great opportunity to help to Human Resources department in a project. These kinds of things made me very happy as I could improve my knowledge and work with different people from the company. What are the best things about working in such a business?Working in a multinational company has a lot of advantages to get introduced in the professional market and more specifically, working in a Customer Contact Center allowed me to put in practice my English, getting used too many different accents from all over the world, to know how to deal with customers and lead a conversation, to manage difficult situations… From my point of view these are essential factors for any kind of job and any kind of area. |
