Petra Hottowá, Supervisor Reservations and Sales UnitNationality: Czech Was BlueLink International CZ your first big professional experience?Yes, it’s my first bigger professional experience. During my studies I had worked in several companies but only as part time and for quite a short time. In 2007 I randomly found an advertisement from BlueLink International CZ (at the time Team Trackers) on the website, where they looked for German speaking candidates so I applied and was almost immediately accepted. My biggest motivation was the practice of foreign languages, multicultural environment, airline industry - which I really like - and as a student I appreciated flexibility of shifts and also closeness to my university. How long have you been in BLICZ and how was your evolution during your experience?I have already been in BLICZ for 4 years. I started as a Coordinator part time taking Air France luggage calls, and later also doing back office activities. After 1 year I was promoted to Supervisor Deputy which gave me the opportunity to see the coordinator’s work from the opposite site. As soon as I finished my university degree in 2010, I switched to full time and Supervisor became my official position. I participated from the very beginning on a project KLM Delta B2C & Web Support for German market. Lately my duties have been extended by taking care of Sales unit (Transavia and Airlinair). What I really appreciate is that company allowed me to go for 5 months during my studies on Erasmus to Portugal and when I came back everything went smoothly. How do you feel this work is contributing to your professional life and skills?Since the very beginning I can see that I have improved my communication and presentation skills, not only in my mother tongue but also in foreign languages. Supervisor work contributes to be very well organized and to have precise time management. It also contributes to the ability to set daily priorities and to work under pressure. I am happy that this work is both analytical and, when leading shifts, also personal. I think I was very lucky that I got managerial position immediately after my studies. What are the best things about working in BLICZ?I must admit I am looking forward to work. I have great colleagues and at the same time some of them are my best friends. I like the multicultural environment. It’s perfect to work among such different nationalities directly in the heart of Prague. What I also like is our air ticket benefit thanks to which I have had a chance to see countries where I most probably would not be able to travel if I worked in a different company. What are the biggest challenges? The work is still changing. What pays today doesn’t have to be valid tomorrow. Especially when the project is new there are a lot of changes. Most challenging is definitely cooperation with different nationalities. This comes more into consideration for me now because the work in Sales is distributed between Prague and Paris centre so cooperation with our French colleagues is necessary. |
